In a unique and powerful live performance hosted by BAFTA-award winning actor Stephen Rea, The People Speak conveyed through readings and musical performances the dramatic, and remarkably eloquent, history of political struggle and protest in Ireland, from its earliest history to the present day.

This special free performance at David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center will feature students at the High School for Arts, Imagination and Inquiry, a New York City public school located at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Educational Campus

The People Speak: Ireland at The New School brings to life, through words and song, the dramatic history of political struggle and protest in Ireland and beyond, from its earliest history to the present day. Presented by CualaNYC, as a part of its the city-wide celebration of the centennial year of Irish Independence, Voices of a People's History of the United States and The New School.
